Writer's Block...

Of course, the one time I truly need to be inspired, must be inspired, I cannot think of a single thing to write about.

College applications do that to you, I suppose. I'm surprised though. I work well under pressure. I've actually done my best work under pressure. But now, as I sit with a piece of lined paper in front of me, the white of the sheet duller than usual, the blue horizontal lines a little more crooked, my mind remains just as blank as the paper before me.

Oh, Muse,

Come to me now. Tap my little head with your fingertip and fill it with expression; blow your sweet breath over my eyelids so that I see visions...I'd even take a clunk on my noggin with a frying pan, if that's all you'll offer.

Love,

A

P.S. You can find me in my room. I'll be the one with glazed over eyes and a red spot on her forehead from slamming my head against the wall repeatedly.

Note to Self...

Reason #1 why I hate high school am excited for college:

All teachers may be ridiculous some of the time, but some teachers are ridiculous ALL of the time.

Let's take a look...

Things your teacher does NOT give you extra credit for if your teacher is the volleyball coach:
  1. Doing extra credit problems on tests.
  2. Doing extra credit homework assignments.
  3. Doing actual work that could qualify as extra credit.

Things your teacher DOES give you extra credit for if your teacher is the volleyball coach:
  1. Going to the volleyball game.
  2. Talking about volleyball.
  3. Being a volleyball player.
  4. Bringing a volleyball to class and putting it on your desk while you take notes.
Ridiculous.

Senioritis.

Gemma Doyle...

Has anyone read A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray?

If you haven't, you should. It's pretty good.

If you have, I want to tell you something. Last night I felt EXACTLY like Gemma Doyle. I walked into my room at midnight, closed the door, and a chilly breeze drifted through my open window. The sound of rain pouring over the streets and through the leaves turning crispy with the coming of autumn was the only sound filling the quiet, dark night. The rain reflected the streetlight and glittered as it pounded the ground.

I slept with my window open because I didn't want to lose the feeling of Gemma and when I woke up, the feeling hadn't left. It was a gray dark morning, almost like late afternoon, and the rain was still going strong.

I love these moments, when you feel like a character from a book or movie. It's surreal.

AH.

Who gave me the bug that's been going around?

I probably gave it to about ten people in band last night. They are going to feel like crap, but really they should be thanking me. It's like a chicken pox party. I give it to them NOW so that they can suffer over the weekend and not have to miss school on Monday.

I am a Saint.

Woof.

Rachel Zoe...

Either teachers are giving more homework this year or I am spending more time on homework this year.

Either way, it's def interfering with my Rachel Zoe time and I am not a happy camper.

Although I did make microwave s'mores this week so I was like a happy urban camper on Monday.

I miss you RZ!

Need to do:

Register to vote by October 8th, I think.
Come up with something to do for the big 1-8.
Start fundraiser.

Ah, I can feel it. It's going to be a hell of a year.
